Body repair

Paint
The colour has to match, and the light has to run straight.
A repair is judged twice. Once by the colour, standing next to the panel that was never touched. Once by the reflection, when a straight light runs across the work and does not wobble.
- Colour matched to what is already on the vehicle, metallic and flake included.
- Blended into the panels either side so the repair has no edge to find.
- Cut and finished so the new paint carries the same reflection as the old.

Bodywork on older vehicles is slower on purpose. Panels are not sitting on a shelf somewhere, colours were mixed differently, and the right answer is often the patient one.
